BOOTH

We had an event at our school called THBM Week, where we set up booths for the occasion held on May 13-14, 2025, at STI College Cubao. The event's theme was "Timeless Journey: Where Past Meets Present in Travel Writing & Photography." It emphasized how different travel writing and photography are from the past to the present.

We had two booths and two groups for this event. Let's first talk about the "Photo Booth with Philippine Historical Backdrops & Costumes," which was participated in by Christian Jay Mancilla.

Group 1

Introduction

Photo Booth with Philippine Historical Backgrounds and Costumes offers students a chance to tap on that part of history and capture it in photographs. Dressing in traditional Filipino dress and standing before the backdrops of prominent historical places will allow students to experience the past and take a memorable photo. The activity proves fun and interactive by enabling everyone to appreciate a cultural heritage and at the same time carry an unusual souvenir home.

Activity Concept

Students will enter a themed photo booth featuring the Philippines Historic Places. They will have access to a Filipino costume to make the experience 2  more realistic. After they're dressed up, they can pose according to their choice.

We also had a games for the participants which is the "Guess the Emoji", participants will guess what is the word we are looking for by guessing and combining the emojis.

The Philippine Historical Backdrops & Costumes Photo Booth is an interesting and educational consideration for the rich cultural history of the Philippines, and it shall serve as an activity that allows students to experience the past and put it on. This exciting, interactive, and memorable activity will complement the theme "Timeless Journey: Where Past Meets Present in Travel Writing & Photography."

Group 2

Introduction

Maps have been essential guides for humans for centuries, reflecting their knowledge and beliefs. Advancements in navigation and surveying have led to more accurate maps. Today, digital technology revolutionizes mapmaking, offering real-time information. Comparing an old map of Quezon City with a present-day version illustrates the changes in urban landscapes and mapping technologies, with a miniature of the Quezon City Circle to highlight the difference.

Activity Concept

Our activity concept is a memory matching game that aligns with the theme “Where the Past Meets the Present.” In this game, participants are challenged to match pairs of images, like representing a historical version of a place, landmark, or item, and the other showing its modern-day counterpart. The goal is to help players recognize the connection between heritage and progress, emphasizing how the past continues to influence and shape the present.

Aside from that, we have a miniature of old and present Quezon Memorial Circle to represent how modern day helps to evolve a place. Also, an old map of Quezon City to let them see the difference of old maps to a maps nowadays, so they can gain another knowledge about history.

This interactive approach not only makes learning more fun but also encourages appreciation for cultural preservation and development.
